Start with an ellipse for the base of the lamp. It needs to be nicely horizontal so the lamp sits level.
Let’s forget about perspective and just concentrate on the silhouette of the lamp—drawing in the various elements as simply as possible.
Now add a few details to connect the different parts, and then add a bit of volume to the base, making sure you keep the curves as parallel as you can.
A few finishing touches later, and you can go switch on the light!
