BADMINTON PARTY

images

Start by drawing the base of the shuttlecock, then lightly draw in an axis that cuts through the middle, which will help us draw the feathers in a moment. Then draw the outer edges of the feathered section—the crown or skirt if you’re a badminton pro.

Begin drawing the feathers by making straight lines that converge toward the axis line at the center of the base. The thread or cage (which holds the feathers in place) is drawn as curved lines that are parallel with each other.

Complete the feathers, keeping them nice and straight for the best aerodynamics. Give a sense of the cage running behind the feathers to create depth, and aim to keep those curves parallel.

A few more details, and it’s done: all set for a match!
