Fawn busted in right after Mom. “You’re STILL in bed? You need to MOVE it, ladies! We’ve got shadows to beat!”
Then she ran out.
“What was that about shadows?” I asked Rusty.
Rusty had pulled her suitcase from the closet and was throwing all her clothes in. Oh yeah, she thought she was flying out after the shoot. I wished I could tell her not to bother, but sometimes surprises get tricky.
“Don’t you remember at dinner last night, Flip said we had to be out on the rapids by noon so we don’t end up with shadows in the photos.”
“No, I don’t remember that at all. I guess I really do need a personal assistant.”
“Well, maybe since I’m helping him with the photography I was paying a little more attention than you were.”
I jumped out of bed and pulled on my clothes. At least I had the sense to get those ready the night before. And the Ready Eddy sandals were a no-brainer. I brushed my fingers through my tangled waves. Great. Fawn was going to have to do something about those on the way to the river. Or maybe no one would care since I’d be wearing a helmet.
