1. From movies to magazines to television programs, there is no doubt that our society is obsessed with physical appearance. What aspect of your physical appearance would you most like to change? Why?
2. It’s natural to notice someone else’s beautiful hairstyle or stylish outfit. However, when you start to compare, beware! List the people you compare yourself to. What do they have that vou want? Be honest.

3. What does the Bible say about jealousy and comparing our physical appearance with others? Write your thoughts beside each Scripture.

4. Read Romans 12:1. What do our physical bodies have to do with our spirituality? How does this message from God’s Word compare with the message society gives us regarding the purpose of our bodies?

“Taking the time and energy to make your body the best that it can possibly be is time- consuming and difficult. But it is worth the effort you put into it. You shouldn't let this dominate your life, but it is definitely one of the three parts of becoming a well-rounded woman of distinction” (p. 54 ).
5. According to Genesis 2:22, God fashioned you. He did not make a mistake in creating you just the way you are. It can be easy for us to concentrate so much on what we don’t like about our physical bodies that we forget the things we do appreciate about ourselves. List your physical characteristics that you like.

6 . Take some time to reflect on what God’s Word says about how we should treat our physical bodies. Review Scriptures we’ve studied as well as any others you wish to include here.

‘A healthy body has no eternal value whatsoever, but it is a very important and necessary part of being a woman of distinction. Our bodies are what God uses as tools to carry out His will on earth” (p. 56 ).
7. Scripture says your body is not your own to do with as you please. How does this truth affect the respect you have for your body?
8 . Impressing others shouldn’t be our motivation for taking care of our physical bodies. But respecting our bodies in order to honor God is quite another matter. In light of what you’ve learned in God’s Word, what will you change about the way you take care of your body? On what date will you begin to implement these changes?
9. What verses or insights from today’s study were particularly significant to you? Write them below and journal about what they mean to you.
