EM OF THE Day
"‘If is precisely in yourjrailty and failure that God wants to meet with you, to challenge you to know Him more intimately and to live more successfully,
to extend His grace to you ’ (p. 147).
1. Why can’t anyone earn or buy her way into the King’s court?
2. Make no mistake, the women in the King’s court are there by His grace, not because they’re good enough, pretty enough, worthy enough, or wealthy enough. In fact, it’s just the opposite. Read Romans 3:23-24. Why are we in such desperate need of His
m
race?

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24
An Emerald Called Grace
All the jewels in His crown were once helpless, ungodly, and regarded as God’s enemies. Read Romans 5:6-10, and describe how you see evidence of this truth in your life.
“In His grace, He looks beyond our faults and sees our needs” (p. 147).
4. The deeper you get to know God, the more clearly you will see His holiness. Read Isaiah 6:5 and 64:6, and describe your own position in light of God’s holiness.
For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ
5. Scripture is clear—sin dealt us a tragic, fatal blow. According to Romans 6:23, what
do we deserve?
“The grace ofGod demands our full attention. It is more magnificent than anything that we can imagine, yet we take Gods grace far too lightly Without it, you and I would be helpless” (p. 152).
6. If we could earn our way into royalty any other way, then Christ died “needlessly,” according to Galatians 2:21. In what ways have you taken the grace of God for granted?
died for us. Romans 5:6-8
An Emerald Called Grace
7. The emerald called grace becomes even more valuable to us when we see just how weak and helpless we are without it. Ponder the imagery Jesus uses in Matthew 9:36. How is this an accurate description of us?
“No one has accomplished anything that God’s grace has not allowed. Without Gods grace, we can do nothing. Without it, we would perish” (p. 152).
8. Take some time to reflect on what God’s Word says about why we desperately need an emerald called grace to adorn our lives. Review verses we’ve studied as well as any others you wish to include here.

9. In what ways have you been needlessly trying to “prove” your worth to God—striving to impress Him enough by your goodness? Humbly confess these attitudes and actions in a prayer below.
/ do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly. Galatians 2:21
10. Based on what you’ve studied in God’s Word, why is the emerald of grace so valuable to you?
