Cut the pineapple into chunks.

Put part of the pineapple chunks, half the mint, sugar and the lime juice into a pitcher. Smash the ingredients with a wooden spoon.

Add the cachaça and some crushed ice.

Pour the drink into 8 glasses with more crushed ice.

Top up with the pineapple juice.

Garnish with mint sprigs and additional pieces of pineapple.
