“So what’s been going on?” I asked Delores.
She eyed me down with her face curled up in the ugliest frown I’d seen in my life. It was hard for me to believe that Kaylen came from anyone who looked like her.
“Where my shit at, nigga?” she asked me.
Right then, I wanted to slap the hell out of her. “All the shit I gave you yesterday is gone already? Gotdamn! The fuck you been doing?”
I rustled around in my pocket and pulled out a few pills that I had left. My stash was getting low. Ra’Sheena was popping pills and snorting lines like a pro. I was about to get rid of her ass. She wasn’t worth it to me. All she wanted to do was get high and fuck…which would have been perfectly fine except for the fact that her pussy wasn’t even getting wet no more. All the shit she was taking was fucking her up and I didn’t want no dry ass coochie. Bitch had to go.
“Thank you!” Delores said, snatching the baggie of pills out my hand. Before I could even say a word, she’d already opened it up and popped one in her snaggletoothed mouth.
“Now, what’s been going on round there?” I asked her again.
“They getting married,” she revealed to me, happily fingering the bag that held two more pills. She shifted her weight from foot to foot as she looked at it. I guess it was her happy dance.
“Who? Kaylen and Zo?” I said. “They getting married?”
“Yup.” She nodded her head. “I’mma be in the wedding, too.”
“Man, I don’t give a fuck about that shit. I need you to do something for me,” I told her. She nodded her head eagerly. “I’m going to give you some pills. These not the type of pills that you been taking. These shits will knock a motherfucker out. I need you to put them in Kaylen’s drink tonight for me, okay?”
She looked up at me with a blank face and I wondered if she was too high to understand what I was asking her to do.
“You understand?” I asked her. She nodded.
“Yeah, but what I’mma get?” she asked me with her hand out. I sucked my teeth and reached down in my other pocket. I pulled out a few vials of coke and more pills then handed them over to her.
“This is for you,” I said. Then I pulled out some pills in a blue bag. “These are what you need to give to Kaylen.”
“Will it kill her?” she asked me. I eyed her for a minute because I couldn’t tell by her tone if Kaylen’s death would make her happy or sad.
“No, it won’t kill her. It’ll just knock her out for a little bit. Then I need you to leave the door open for me. Call me and let me know when it’s done.”
“What about Zo?” She looked at me, her face still expressionless but her eyes twinkling.
“I’ll take care of him to make sure he’s not there. You just do what I said and call me when it’s done. I got more shit waiting for you after you do that, okay?”
“Okay,” she nodded. She popped another pill in her mouth and turned to walk away.
“I can’t believe those motherfuckers actually talking about getting married. That’s some bullshit,” I muttered.

I looked at the glowing numbers on the clock. It was ten past eight.
“The fuck taking her so damn long?” I spat into the darkness.
“Who?” Ra’Sheena asked me groggily.
I was surprised she was still awake after the assault I’d had just put on her pussy. She had pulled herself together enough to go get some KY Gel and actually make her shit worthwhile. It wasn’t anything close to how it used to be when I first started fucking with her, but it wasn’t bad either. My shit was still hard as a rock though, but it didn’t matter because as soon as Delores’ dumb ass did what I told her to do, I would be having my way with Kaylen.
I didn’t want much. Just one last fuck to get back at Zo for everything that he’d done to me. He stole my bitch, tried to kill me, turned his back on me and now he was even trying to marry the slut. It disgusted me how someone who had been my friend from the beginning could actually turn his back on me for some thot he hadn’t even known more than two years. Yeah, I had my issues but I never turned my back on him. Even after I fucked shit up with Dom, I still tried to warn him. But he had his head so far up Kaylen’s ass that he was breathing for her. He didn’t see nothing unless she was showing it to him.
Finally my phone rang. I picked it up on the first ring.
“Yo,” I said.
“It’s done. She’s sleeping. Door’s open,” Delores said then the line went dead.
I felt the excitement dancing around in the pit of my stomach like I had just won the lotto. Pussy was sweet but revenge was sweeter and I was about to get both at one time.
“Where you going?” Ra’Sheena whined when she felt me move off the mattress. I felt her reach out to me, her hand grazing my ankles. I kicked it away.
“Bitch, shut the fuck up. You don’t ask me about my movements,” I snapped.
I couldn’t wait to get back so I could throw her dumb ass out on the street. She had to go. I grabbed my keys and my jacket then walked out of the apartment. Once I was in the car, I pulled out my cellphone to call Zo.
“Hey man, where you at?” I asked him once he picked up.
“At the crib, why?” he responded.
“I feel bad about how shit went down at the club the other night. Can you meet me at the club? I just wanna talk to you.”
“Fa sho. When you heading there, my nigga?” he said.
I heard rustling in the background so I assumed he was getting up and ready to go. I smiled to myself. This shit was just too damn easy. “I’m on my way now.”
“Aight, I’ll leave right now then. See you in a few,” he replied. I hung up the phone and tossed it on my seat, delighted that my plan was working just as I had wanted it.
About thirty minutes later, I was pulling up in front of Kaylen’s crib. Her car was in the yard, but Zo’s was nowhere to be found.
Perfect! I thought to myself.
I pulled up about two houses down from her spot and parked on the side of the road. Can never be too cautious. I pulled on a black fitted cap on my head as I walked up the walkway to her front door. It was crazy the memories that I had of this place. When Kaylen and I were together, I used to live in this spot with her. Those were some of the happiest days in my life. Now my homeboy was in my place.
Now ain’t that bout a bitch?
I hesitated once I got to the door. Not from nervousness but from excitement. Closing my eyes, I thought about the last time I was up in Kaylen’s wet-wet. The pills I gave Delores to give to her would make her just delirious enough to not know what was going on once I woke her up. I would be able to fuck her one last time, skeet all up in that pussy and pray that her ass got pregnant with my seed. Her and Zo would be raising a little baby Salem and wouldn’t even know it. It would be even better if Zo found out the kid wasn’t his and dropped her ass.
As soon as I was able to contain my excitement enough to concentrate on the task at hand, I twisted the doorknob. I heard the soft click and thanked God that Delores hadn’t fucked up that part of the plan. I pushed the door open slowly and walked inside. I closed the door behind me and squinted. It was pitch black. I couldn’t understand for the life of me why Delores’ dumb ass wouldn’t at least leave a light on.
Click!
My heart stopped as I felt the barrel of a cocked gun pressed up against the right side of my head. My legs went numb and my stomach knotted up into a ball as fear riveted through my body. My breathing lodged in my throat and my heart began beating hard like a hammer in my chest.
I heard another click and the light overhead turned on.
“The fuck you up to, Salem?” Zo asked me.
That bitch! I thought to myself.
Delores wasn’t as much of a junky as I thought. I should have known better than to trust her ass. She had ruined my plan and I bet money that she was somewhere delightfully getting high off my supply.
“Man, Zo…this ain’t what it look like.” I tried to chuckle a little but it came out more as nervous laughter.
“The fuck you mean? You sneaking up in here and you told Delores to slip this shit into Kaylen’s drink?” Zo threw something at my feet. I didn’t have to look to know that it was the baggy of pills that I gave Delores.
Stupid bitch.
“Salem, you better be glad that Delores told me this shit and not Kaylen. I’m not going to tell her either because I know that she won’t rest unless I dead your ass for trying to pull this kind of shit. The only reason you still alive right now is because you’re my boy. But listen to me, if you try some more shit again, I will fuck you up and I won’t give a damn. Now get the fuck out of here.” Zo pulled the gun away from my temple and opened the door.
I gave him a long hard look before turning around to walk out the door. The walk back to my car seemed to last a lifetime because I was seething. I couldn’t believe that I had gotten tricked by a damn junkie. How in the world could I have been so damn dumb?
I started the engine of my ride and pulled out of Kaylen’s neighborhood still thinking about how I was going to make Zo’s ass pay for how he was doing me. As I pulled out, I passed by a Crown Vic, all black and dark tints. I turned to look straight ahead and kept my eyes trained on the road. I knew immediately that car belonged to Mercy. I remembered it from when I met up with him to get the dope. I said a prayer of thanks that I’d decided to drive Ra’Sheena’s car instead of my own. I checked in my rearview mirror and saw Mercy’s whip heading in the direction of Kaylen’s crib.
“Well, well,” I muttered. “Looks like I won’t have to worry about fucking Zo’s ass up after all.”
