Sugar-and-Spice Body Scrub

Prep Time: 10 Minutes Start to Finish: 10 Minutes 4 (½ pint) jars

1 In medium bowl, mix brown sugar and oil until well blended. In small bowl, mix salt and pie spice.

2 Spoon ¼ cup brown sugar mixture into bottom of each jar; add 2 tablespoons salt mixture. Repeat layers. Cover jars with lids. Store at room temperature up to 3 months.

3 To use, spoon about 1 teaspoonful of scrub at a time into wet hand or washcloth. Apply to skin (avoid eye area) in circular motion. Rinse with warm water; pat dry.

Festive Touch Decorate the lid of the jar with holiday fabric. Use raffia or twine to tie a small spoon to the jar for mixing and scooping; look for ice cream sample spoons at party stores.

Festive Touch For even more Christmas color, add some green or red decorator sugar to the salt mixture.

Kitchen Secrets This scrub is layered in jars for a pretty effect, but be sure you include a note to spoon out some of both the brown sugar and salt layers when using.

Kiwi-Yogurt Facial Mask

Prep Time: 10 Minutes Start to Finish: 4 Hours 10 Minutes 2 (4 oz) jars

  • 1 kiwifruit, peeled, coarsely chopped
  • ¼ cup Greek plain yogurt (not low-fat or fat-free)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon quick-cooking oats
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseed

1 In mini food processor, place kiwi, yogurt and honey. Cover; process until blended. Divide mixture between 2 jars.

2 Top each jar with half of the oats and half of the flaxseed. Cover; refrigerate undisturbed at least 4 hours.

3 To use, stir oat mixture into yogurt mixture. Spoon about 2 tablespoons mixture into hands and gently apply to face (avoid eye area). Let stand 5 to 10 minutes; rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Make-Ahead Magic The jars can be stored in the refrigerator up to 5 days.
