About the Author

BRUCE TULGAN is an adviser to business leaders all over the world and a sought-after keynote speaker, seminar leader, and consultant. He is the founder of RainmakerThinking, Inc., a workplace research and training firm. Bruce is the author of the bestseller It’s Okay to Be the Boss, the classic Managing Generation X, Not Everyone Gets a Trophy, and The 27 Challenges Managers Face, as well as many other books. More than a half-million individuals from more than four hundred organizations have participated in Bruce’s research since 1993, and his work has been the subject of thousands of news stories worldwide. He has written pieces for numerous publications, including the New York Times, USA Today, Harvard Business Review, TD, Training, and Human Resources. Bruce holds a sixth-degree black belt in classical Okinawan Uechi Ryu karate, making him a master in that style. His wife, Debby Applegate, PhD, won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Biography for her book The Most Famous Man in America and is also the author of the forthcoming Madam.
