ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Born in Chicago in 1902, A.H.Z. CARR was an economic adviser to the presidential administrations of Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman, and participated in economic and diplomatic missions in Western Europe and East Asia. He also served as a consulting economist to several large corporations. Carr wrote for magazines including Harper’s, Reader’s Digest, and The Saturday Evening Post. He died in 1971.
