Chapter 75 heading

Shaw squatted with his back against the door frame as he regulated his breathing and checked the chamber of the gun. Two rounds left. He would need to make sure they really counted.

He took a bandage from the stockroom and tied it tightly around his arm. It wasn’t clean or tidy, but it would hopefully stop him leaving a trail of blood for the final Crow to follow.

He was itching to go and check on Mary, but he had to deal with the final Crow before it was safe to.

There was only one option: to sweep the building from the top.

He wasn’t looking forward to this. He slipped off his boots and tucked them behind the door, then started to move silently up the stairwell.
