“Square footage” refers to the total “heated square feet” of the plan. This number does not include the garage, porches, or unfinished bonus areas. All of our home plans are the result of many hours of work by leading architects and professional designers.
Below is a sample of the plan information included for most of the designs in this book. Specific details may vary with each designer’s plan. While this information is typical of most plans, we cannot assure the inclusion of all the following referenced items. Please contact our customer service department for plan specific information, including which of the following items are included.
Many plans include the artist’s rendering of the front of the house. It gives you an idea of how the house will look once it is completed and the property landscaped.
These plans show the size and layout of the rooms. They also provide the locations of doors, windows, fireplaces, closets, stairs, and electrical outlets and switches.
A foundation plan gives the dimensions of basements, walk-out basements, crawl spaces, pier foundations, and slab construction. Each house design lists the type of foundation included. If the plan you choose does not have the foundation type you require, our customer service department can help you customize the plan to meet your needs.
In addition to providing the pitch of the roof, some plans also show the locations of dormers, skylights, and other elements.
These drawings show the front, rear, and sides of the house as if you were looking at it head on. Elevations also provide information about architectural features and finish materials.
Interior elevations show specific details of such elements as fireplaces, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, built-ins, and other unique features of the design.
This shows the structure as if it were sliced to reveal construction requirements, such as insulation, flooring, and roofing details.
