18 Making an Angel Altar

Dedicating a special space in your home for your angels, no matter how small, creates a physical place to meet with your celestial friends. From the end of a mantelpiece to a corner of a living room, a square foot of your yard to a whole room for your angel figurines, any space you dedicate raises the vibrations of your entire home.

Look through any angel items you have. What do you love most? Set aside favorite angel figurines, wings, cherubs, and fresh or silk flowers, along with candles in your favorite colors, or the colors of the angels you would like to communicate with (see Tip 8). Angels are connected with crystals, too, and have their own associated stones—but you can place any crystals you would like to work with in your angel space. Crystals including seraphinite, angelite, celestite, selenite, rutilated quartz, and angel aura quartz are high-vibration, and help make a link with the angelic realms (see Tip 6). Add some angel incense and/or an aromatherapy oil burner and essential oils (see Tip 26).

Before you arrange your offerings, clear and clean the space thoroughly, and open the nearest window or door to let fresh air flow. Next, you can mist (see Tip 27)—add two drops of lavender essential oil and two drops of sage essential oil to about 1 fl. oz. (30ml) spring water; lavender neutralizes any negative vibes and sage cleanses, helping to make your angelic connection fast and clear. (If you are pregnant, it is best to avoid handling these oils.)

MAKING AN ABUNDANCE ALTAR

You can give an altar any theme. Abundance is perfect, because it embodies prosperity of heart, mind, and pocket, too.

* First make an Angel Mist with two drops of peppermint oil, three drops of spearmint oil, and three drops of lavender oil diluted in about 1 fl. oz. (30ml) spring water. Then gather together some objects that symbolize abundance. You could add a small pile of coins, pretty items in gold or silver, and some favorite crystals—if you have pyrite and citrine, all the better, as they attract money and abundance. Add a picture of what you would like to have—be realistic, though, as your angels will respond to need rather than complete fantasy!

WHAT TO AVOID PLACING ON YOUR ALTAR

Consider how your altar treasures came to you. If you are framing angel greetings cards, who did they come from? Is the sender someone you are still in touch with, and like? If you sense any negative attachment to any item, do not place it on your altar. Only display items that you love, and that have happy, loving associations for you.

Refresh your altar each week, dusting and cleaning figurines, crystals, candles, and pictures to keep the energy of this special space fresh, the pathways of communication clear, and the vibration high.

BLESSING YOUR ANGEL ALTAR

Say three times: “I dedicate this space to my angels so they may talk with me. May this space be our place for all that is love.”

Thank your angels.
