Following Eloy’s directions, Chloe parked on the west side of the mall where the Flair Department store was located.
Eloy narrated as the heist got underway. “Okay. The operators are getting out of the rides, and they’ll all start walking fast to the target.”
With a racing heart, Chloe watched as two dozen people exited the cars which were stopped uniformly next to Flair. The group jogged toward the entrance.
The vehicles then spread out, moving into positions at the end of the parking rows closest to the store. All get-away cars pointed south.
“I insist that the bounce rides are all sedans. Makes it easier for the operators to hop inside.” He chuckled. “Although, I’d bet half of those vehicles are hot.”
“Hot?”
“Stolen.”
The drivers sprang from their car and opened all the passenger doors, then darted back behind the wheel.
“Now, if an operator misses their ride, we’ll zoom in to pick them up.”
“What? You said I wouldn’t have to be involved!”
“Don’t worry. We haven’t had anyone orphaned yet.”
Crew members began bursting out the store, their arms filled with merchandise. They sprinted to the sedans and hopped inside.
Out of the corner of her eye, Chloe saw a tan automobile speeding in the direction of the herd of thieves.
“Shit,” Eloy yelled. “Who the fuck is that?”
The driver pulled in front of the get-away vehicles and skidded to a stop.
