2 SERVINGS
INGREDIENTS
2 cups frozen edamame in pods
1 tbsp table salt
Light sprinkle of coarse kosher salt (can use regular salt in a pinch; see Note)
DIRECTIONS
Bring 6 cups of water to boil in a medium to large pot, and add the edamame and table salt. Let cook for about 5 minutes, or until the edamame are tender.
Drain, and toss the cooked edamame with a light sprinkle of kosher salt.
Serve, and enjoy!
Note: What’s kosher salt? It’s the same thing as regular table salt, but the grain is larger, like the salt crystals you might find on a soft pretzel. These larger salt grains result in a bit of crunch and bursts of saltiness compared to regular table salt, which will make an item taste evenly salty.
TIP: Want more pizazz or kick to your edamame? Try a chili and garlic variation! Mix ¼ to 1 tsp chili powder, 2 to 3 cloves garlic (finely minced), and ¼ tsp salt (or more to taste) in a small bowl, then toss with the cooked edamame.
