Unlike my contemporary works, my fantasy fiction doesn’t utilize Scripture, but it follows Christian themes of seeking truth, finding redemption, and understanding God for who He is instead of whom we deem Him to be. I also utilize purely fantastical elements such as telepathy, magic, and others as is the norm for fantasy novels.
In light of that, this work deviates from the “norm” of my other work in some ways. I pray God reveals His character to the reader within these pages and those of the other fantasy novels I write, as well as the physical, emotional, and spiritual journeys the characters take.
I enjoyed creating the world of Ultrana. It gave me a whole new appreciation for the Lord’s incredible power and intelligence, in His creative genius. Throughout Scripture, He often points to creation as proof of His power. Though I created Ultrana only on paper, it gave me a deeper understanding of and appreciation for all the tiny nuances and contingencies both small and grand that God worked into life on planet Earth. I pray you enjoy the world I’ve created, though it's nowhere near His brilliance.
