PAUL KAPLAN writes books in three categories: cultural guides; social history & biographies; and business marketing. His other six books include New York’s Original Penn Station: The Rise and Fall of an American Landmark; Lillian Wald: America’s Great Social & Healthcare Reformer; Progressive Era (1890–1920) in New York; Irving Berlin: The Story Behind the Composer of White Christmas & God Bless America; Jewish New York: A History & Guide to Neighborhoods, Synagogues, and Eateries and a sequel for South Florida.

He has been featured on CBS Miami, WNET/PBS, the front page of New York Press, the iconic African-American newspaper Amsterdam New York, Princeton Magazine and nationally-airing radio shows including America’s Dining & Travel, Writer’s Voice, Let’s Travel and Woodstock Booktalk with Martha Frankel.

He has given over 40 talks at venues across the US including the Harvard Club, Yale Club, Union League of New York, General Society Library, New York Public Library, Museum at Eldridge Street, Miami Design Preservation League, and to corporations, schools, community centers and private events.

He earned a BA in Ethics, Politics, and Economics from Yale College and an MBA from Yale School of Management. Kaplan has worked in marketing for over 15 years focused on content marketing/thought leadership, digital media and product strategy for educational technology and financial companies. He has served in senior marketing roles at Princeton Review-Tutor.com, American Express, McGraw-Hill and Broadridge Financial Solutions. He has performed many consulting engagements on marketing strategy and execution.
