CHOCOLATE SYRUP

MAKES 200ml

100ml maple syrup

75ml water

1 tbsp sugar

a pinch of salt

25g cocoa powder

25g dark chocolate

1 tsp vanilla extract

Medium saucepan


Put the maple syrup, water, sugar and salt into the saucepan and place it over a medium heat | Bring to the boil and cook for 1 minute | Reduce the heat to low, add the cocoa powder and whisk until completely dissolved | Remove from the heat and stir in the chocolate, broken into pieces, and vanilla extract | Leave to cool before using
