Feast Days of the Saints

image

THE LITURGICAL POINT OF REFERENCE IS ALWAYS THE GENERAL ROMAN Calendar. Names in italic are on the General Roman Calendar. Other liturgical calendars, including the Proper Calendar for the (Roman Catholic) Dioceses of the U.S.A., are given in parentheses. If data appears in parentheses immediately after an italic entry, it signifies that the feast is also observed in another Christian tradition or religious order, in addition to the General Roman Calendar. “Orthodox” refers to the Russian and Greek Orthodox Churches in particular, but may include other Orthodox Churches as well. “East” refers to more than the Orthodox Churches. “Anglicans” refers to more than the Church of England. Saintly figures, like Mohandas Gandhi or Dorothy Day, who have not formally been recognized as such by the Catholic Church are not included, even though they are mentioned in the entries for their dates.
