Life is not an emergency.
ANN VOSKAMP
IF I LET MY house go for a few days, it becomes overwhelming to clean. I look around at the piles and the papers, and I purpose in my heart that I am going to become a minimalist and just throw everything away.
When I’m feeling overwhelmed with my house and my to-do list, and tornado cleaning just isn’t what I’m in the mood for, I think, Slow and steady. One step at a time. My friend Amy taught me that, and I’m learning . . . slow and steady. Pick that up. Put it away. Wash that dish, sweep, put on some music, fold clothes, do a little dance with my kids, keep on. Slow and steady.
And when my heart hurts and the waves of discouragement come full on, I have to slow and steady myself. Slow, seek Him in the still place. Steady, lean on the firm One. Some days, slow and steady is the only way I make it through.
Whatever it is today that seems chaotic—your home, your seemingly out-of-control child, your work, your marriage, your soul—think, slow and steady.
One step at a time, one day at a time, slow and steady, you’ll make it.

READ MATTHEW 6:25-33
Think about something in your life that you need to stop striving frantically to put in order. Is there truly any need to rush? What are some gifts that come from slowing down and taking a steady approach to things?
Is there a place in your home or your soul where you need stillness? Whisper these phrases as you breathe in and out, “Slow and steady. One step at a time.” You’ve got this. And He’s got you.
CATCH-UP DAY!
CONTINUE WORKING
Whatever you didn’t finish yesterday, continue working on it today—slow and steady.
Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
