WEEK 35

POLLS

Many kinds of polls exist. Some surveys are honest, some not so honest. A few are designed by companies to prove or justify a product or a person. Some may be helpful in advertising and ultimately in sales.

A friend of mine polls his acquaintances when he’s looking for people to agree with his point of view, rather than seeking out those who have a different perspective from his.

There are times when I pray for God’s advice or direction. Sometimes what I am really doing is looking for confirmation—an approval to go ahead with my own ideas and plans.

If I am going to ask the Almighty God of the Universe for His opinion, perhaps I would be wise to keep an open mind to receive His answers.

PRAYER: Your ways are not like my ways, Lord, and Your thoughts not like mine. Do I trust You, God, when I pray? when I come to You for direction and wisdom? God, grant me an increase in faith and trust. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Come to me, all you who are weary and

burdened, and I will give you rest.
