I’ve got a lot to think about, so naturally I Facetime JuneBug as soon as I get to my room.
I get an eyeful of white cream and a whole lot of I’m not sure? I turn my face away.
“Eww, JuneBug!”
“What, I’m shaving my legs. Chillax!”
“Just put the phone somewhere where I can’t see your…just let me see your face, please.”
“Fine. What’s up?”
I take a deep breath. “I totally hate, hate, hate the fact that Oliver’s been with Livvy. She’s so awful.”
“You’re still stuck on this?”
“Yes. I don’t want to be, trust me. But I am.”
“It happened before you were here. He didn’t even know you then.”
“I know, okay? But it’s the fact that he was with her at all. I mean, I get that she must be one of those girls who like can charm the guys because she shows them a totally different side.”
“Well, then you see how it happened. So what’s the prob?”
“It’s just…it’s disappointing how blinded guys can be by a pair of knockers and a hoo-ha. Ugh. Now I sound like my mom but it’s true. Why else a guy would want to get within 10 feet of Livvy? Her tone of voice alone could break a friggin’ window. It grates as bad as nails running down a chalkboard. And, okay, she’s not bad looking, but her personality. She’s like a pit viper. Don’t turn your back on her, she’ll spit poison at your back. Not to mention, she’s half psychotic. I still can’t believe she went after me with a can of corn.”
“Are you done now?” JuneBug demands.
I sigh. “Yes. I suppose.”
“Katie. What’s done is done is done. So, get over it, or dump him and move on.”
“I can’t dump him. He’s my beautiful Oliver.”
“Well, then. I guess you’ll just have to forgive him, for, you know, something he did to offend you before he even knew you existed.”
“JuneBug! Your sarcasm.. that was like…revolutionary! I can’t believe I never saw it that way before! Wow!”
JuneBug snorts. “I’ll take credit where it may not be due. It’s just another way of saying don’t let his past get in the way of your future together. Everyone knows that.”
I sigh. “Well. I guess I’m not everyone.”
She laughs. “No. You most certainly are not.”
