Conclusion
In 1997, Life Magazine published a special double issue called “The 100 Most Important People in the Last 1000 Years.” Edison was placed first in this long list of luminaries.
Thomas Edison was one of the greatest inventors of all time, if not the greatest inventor ever. That is because he did one thing and one thing only; he dreamed of visions not yet seen in American culture, and he made those visions come true.
Thomas Edison lit up the world. He was never about making vast amounts of money, however nice that would have been for his many inventions. He was all about innovation; he could look at something and see the potential for it to become so much more. He believed that it was his work and nothing more that made him the famous man he became.
So many people, famous and not so famous would find their way to his laboratory at Menlo Park to gaze upon the man who made all of his inventions work. He was dubbed The Wizard of Menlo Park, and even today, he is still in a class of his own. We live in the modern world; you can thank Thomas Edison for getting us there.
