A Note on the Author

Bill Jones started his working life as a newspaper journalist in the north of England. In the early 1980s he joined Granada Television where he worked on hundreds of documentaries for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and many others. After three decades in broadcasting, he published his critically acclaimed first book, The Ghost Runner, which was shortlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year 2012 award.

Born in Bridlington, he currently lives in Ampleforth, North Yorkshire, where – despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary – he insists that his ancestry is Welsh.

Alone is his second book.
