Day 100

Oh, y’all.

My heart is a little tender right now. Honestly, I could cry if I let myself. Because if you’re on the last day of this book, that means we’ve spent one hundred days together. ONE HUNDRED DAYS. It’s a significant stretch of time, you know? And I get that it probably sounds strange since most of us have never met in person, but I am really going to miss getting to spend time with you. In that funny way the Lord works, He has somehow connected us through the words on these pages. It has been such an honor to serve you, and I hope that these last one hundred days have been an encouragement. I hope that the Lord has helped you settle some things. I hope that you’ve grown in your relationship with Him, that you’ve been reminded of His deep love for you, and that you’re secure in the knowledge that there is no greater joy than serving Him with your whole life.

So. As we wrap up our time together (in this book, at least, because I may miss you so much that I show up at your house one day), it seems right and fitting to close with a letter from my heart to yours. Because although I trust that you’ll keep learning and growing and digging deep into a life of faith, I also believe with everything in me that the Lord has kingdom work for you in the here and now. And let me tell you: when I think about you stepping into that—when I think about you loving people really well in Jesus’ name—it makes me teary-eyed. I am so proud of you.

All righty. Here we go.

My sister in Christ,

The God who made the whole world also made you.

He designed you with great purpose.

He planned your life so that you would walk the earth at this specific time.

He knows you better than anyone, and He loves you unconditionally.

Your identity is always and only in Him.

He has called you by name, and you are His. (Isaiah 43:1)

He has grafted you into the family of God. (Romans 11:17)

He has given you everything you need for life and godliness. (2 Peter 1:3)

He has equipped you for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:17)

So, as my mama used to say: get out there and get after it.

Love Him with everything you have.

Serve people whenever and however you can.

Follow wherever He leads.

Share the gospel.

Make His name known.

And when the world gets loud, remind yourself:

He is everything.

He is worth everything.

And if He is all you have, you have all you need.

He is your all in all.

Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask for or think according to the power that works in us—to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

1. What’s one thing the Lord has taught you over the last one hundred days?

2. Moving forward, is there any area where you feel especially challenged in your relationship with the Lord?

3. Is there any area—friends, school, service—where you’re convicted to live or serve differently?

4. Way back in the introduction of the book, I mentioned Colossians 1:15–20. Look up that passage and read it out loud. (Trust me—it’s strong.)
