5-INGREDIENT, 30 MINUTES OR LESS, ONE-POT
Mildly nutty chia seeds bind together with a variety of sweet, tart, acidic frozen berries to create a perfect jam. This dish can be used to top the Chia Seed, Blueberry, and Yogurt Pancakes or whole wheat toast. To make it sweeter, mix in a teaspoon of pure maple syrup, honey, or date syrup.
1½ cups frozen mixed berries
¼ cup chia seeds
½ cup water
1 . In a medium glass storage container, put the mixed berries, chia seeds, and water. Close the storage container tightly with a secure lid and shake thoroughly. Chill the mixture overnight in the refrigerator.
2 . In the morning, using a fork, mix and mash the chia berry mixture to the desired consistency. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
SUBSTITUTION TIP: To add a sweet, tangy taste, substitute the water for ½ cup of juiced orange with ¼ teaspoon of orange zest.
