About the Author
As a young boy growing up in the beachside suburbs of Melbourne, Ken Piesse would borrow all 18 cricket books belonging to the Parkdale Library, sit them on a bookshelf at home and imagine they were his. Asked by his father if he cared to borrow any other books, he said, ‘No.’
Now President of the Australian Cricket Society, Ken has his own cricketing library and is Australia’s most published cricket and football author, whose books have sold in tens of thousands.
Editor of Cricketer magazine for 15 years (1978–92), Australian Cricket magazine (1996–2003) and now the Summer Tour Guide (2004–), he has also co-written more than a dozen autobiographies with leading personalities including Max Walker, Terry Jenner and Brad Hodge.
Dynamic Duos: Cricket’s Finest Pairs and Partnerships is his sixty-sixth book and follows his best-selling anthology Great Australian Cricket Stories.
In 2012, Ken won the major Media Award from Cricket Victoria for his interview with Australia’s one-Test leg-spinner Bryce McGain.
Ken is the cricket commentator for Radio Sport National, a life member of the Frankston Peninsula Cricket Club and a member of the Melbourne Cricket Club Media Hall of Fame (inducted in 1999) and the Australian Football League’s Media Hall of Fame (2011).
