shadow makers

These shadow makers give your little ones a good excuse to run round the house in the dark with a torch/flashlight in hand. They work just as well in front of a sunny window too.

hints and tips

If your little one is keen to put on their own productions why not help them to make their own shadow puppet theatre? All you need is a big cardboard box, a white sheet and a lamp. Once rehearsals have finished, make a big bowl of popcorn and round up some family members to watch the show!

eco info

Be even more eco-friendly and use a wind up torch/flashlight!

Step 1

Photocopy the templates (see Using templates). Cut out the templates and place them onto a piece of card then draw around the shapes.

Step 2

Cut out the shapes using a craft knife (grown-ups only) or a pair of scissors.

Step 3

Use a piece of sticky tape to attach a sturdy wooden stick to the back of each shape.

Step 4

Pull the curtains and use a torch/flashlight to project the shapes onto the wall.
