Freezing Foods Chart

The frozen foods table presented here has been established from personal experience with freezing homemade baby food—a lot of experience, having to feed twins. You may have better, or worse, luck with freezing your homemade baby food cubes.

Table accounts for foods that have been cooked and/or pureed raw.

Apples May turn brown (cooked)—freeze in slices for a nice teething reliever (raw)
Apricots May not freeze solid and texture may be altered (raw or cooked)
Avocados May turn brown when pureed—best frozen in halves with a bit of lemon juice (raw)
Bananas May brown when pureed—best to cut in half, wrap, then freeze (raw)
Blueberries Freeze well whole or pureed—may thaw to a watery consistency (raw or cooked)
Cherries Freeze well whole or pureed—may thaw to a watery consistency (raw or cooked)
Citrus Does not freeze well
Coconut Does not freeze well
Cranberries Freeze well whole or pureed—may thaw to a watery consistency (raw or cooked)

Grapes Freeze well whole, halved, or quartered (raw)

Yogurt Mixed results—may separate when thawed; best frozen and eaten in frozen form or added to other foods (smoothie time!)
