Miraculously, a Shasta County Sheriff’s scuba diver was able to retrieve the label maker out of the Sacramento River where Todd had thrown it after Carole was killed.

Todd Garton and his fellow conspirators were all either found guilty or pled guilty to various crimes. Garton was found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to death.
