Keeping a journal is another effective way to stay in touch with how you want to live your life.
A journal can be as loose or as structured as you wish to make it. It can include random reflections and ideas about the world and your place in it, or it can be a formal method of keeping a daily record of your thoughts and feelings as a means toward spiritual growth. It can be something you write in every day, or you can use it sporadically as the mood and the need arise. It can be a dream journal, an idea journal, a diet journal, a creativity journal, an anger journal, or a health journal. It can be full of thoughts you want to share with others, or as private as you want to make it.
Many local community college and adult education programs offer courses in journal writing. Being involved in a journal-writing class is an excellent way to work with other people who are learning how to use this technique effectively in their lives, and to share ideas on new and different approaches that could work for you.
Or just pick up a pen and a notebook and develop your own journal-writing system to help you keep in touch with what’s important to you.
