Chapter Nineteen

THE BASEMENT WAS FILTHY and Malachi wasn’t going to take Jardine on the ground like an animal. He kissed her, then deftly stripped her clothing off. While the vampire was tiny, she had a generous bust. “You’re so gorgeous,” he breathed, wishing she could hear him.

Jardine’s hands became a blur of motion as she divested him of his clothes. He was the most perfect male specimen she’d seen in a very long time. “I’m going to bite you while you spear yourself into me, Malachi,” she said and delicately wrapped her hand around his shaft.

“Thank you, God,” the incubus murmured, then groaned when she used her uncanny speed to work him to the edge in just a few seconds. He’d never felt such intense pleasure like this before. He was about to explode when she stopped.

Jardine gave a feminine laugh of satisfaction. It cut off with a gasp of surprise when Malachi grasped hold of her. Standing on one leg, he bent his knee and drew her over it. He spanked her backside hard enough for it to sting, but she found it to be more erotic than she’d expected. She could easily have broken his leg in several places, but meekly submitted to being spanked like a naughty child.

Malachi admired Jardine’s perfect butt that now sported red handprints, then set her upright again. From the tiny smile on her mouth and the fangs that were peeking out between her lips, she’d enjoyed her mock punishment. “Now I’m going to bite you twice,” she warned him playfully.

“I’m not done punishing you yet,” he replied, but she couldn’t read his lips. He dropped to his knees and pulled her to him, then used his tongue to stir her to the same level of need that she’d driven him to.

“Oh, God!” Jardine moaned at the sensation of his hot mouth on her most intimate parts. Her hands plunged into his hair and held him to her as he pleasured her with his tongue. He flicked her rapidly and had her panting like a needy human within minutes. When she was seconds away from climaxing, he pulled away. “I was so close!” she said in dismay when he grinned up at her smugly. “I guess I deserved that,” she conceded ruefully when he pointed at his straining manhood.

They were both worked up now, so Malachi stood and picked up the petite vampire. He wished they had a bed, but he would have to make do. He walked over to the door, figuring it had to be better than the cold stone walls and pressed Jardine against it. Her legs wrapped around him and she allowed him to guide himself into her. “It’s like you were made for me,” he said as he began to slide in and out of her.

Jardine couldn’t hear his words, but she was thinking the same thing. She angled his head to the side and he obliged her wish. Putting her fingers lightly on his throat, she felt his pulse racing as she bit into his vein. His thrusts increased in speed as she drank from him. Their innate magic rose with their mutual desire. It mixed together to heighten their lust without sinking into either of them.

The combined sensation of drinking the incubus’ blood and having him inside her was too much for Jardine. Her back arched and she convulsed around him, driving him to plunge himself into her even faster. Already, she could feel another peak building and she bit him again.

Malachi had never felt such intense pleasure before. It should have been painful being bitten by a vampire, but he just found it erotic. He was nearing the edge now and knew Jardine wasn’t far off from reaching her peak again. He changed her position slightly so he could enter her more deeply as he speared himself into her frantically.

Jardine’s climax hit her by surprise and she tore her fangs out of the incubus’ neck. She screamed as she came, shuddering from sheer pleasure as Malachi pounded himself into her. He joined her in ecstasy, then slumped against her with his head resting on her shoulder.

“I told you I’d make you scream,” Malachi said smugly even though she couldn’t hear him.

“That was incredible,” Jardine said and gently touched the already healing tears she’d left in his skin when she’d pulled her fangs out. “Did I hurt you?” she asked in concern. He shook his head, then kissed her. It was so sweet and tender that tears almost came to her eyes. No man had treated her with kindness like that since before she’d been turned.

Malachi heard the telltale sounds of a letter sliding beneath the door and put Jardine down. The letter hovered in front of his face and he opened it. He read the assassination order and the spell kicked in to link him to his next victim. He made a face and made walking motions with his fingers to indicate he had to leave.

“Duty calls, I take it?” Jardine said ruefully as they walked over to their clothes to get dressed. He nodded, but she didn’t ask who he had to kill next. “I’ll speak to Sebastian and I’ll send you a letter once I’ve learned his answer,” she said.

Malachi smiled and kissed her gratefully. His night had turned out to be far more pleasurable than he’d expected. The letter and envelope both disappeared as they clothed themselves. He followed Jardine back upstairs and stopped her before she could leave. “I’ll see you again soon,” he said, then gave her a final kiss.

“I have no idea what you just said,” she told him in exasperation. “I’m glad you found me,” she added and squeezed his butt. “I’d heard incubi were incredible lovers. Now I know the stories aren’t exaggerated.” She gave him a lecherous wink, then sped away so quickly that she seemed to disappear into thin air.

“This is the best night ever,” the assassin declared, then headed to the curb to wait for a carriage to appear to take him to the Shifter District. When one arrived, he pointed up at the moon. He could barely see it through the clouds as rain poured down from above. He pretended to howl like a dog and the skeleton nodded that it knew where he wanted to go. “If I ever need to get another job, I could make a career out of being a mime,” Malachi joked to himself as he settled onto the plush black seat.
