Scenes Thirteen through Sixteen are sidelights to the main action and should be done in rapid succession by spotting those parts of the stage where action takes place.

bertha: Oh, Mrs. Hotchkiss, I’m dreadfully worried about my little roommate! She went out late last night and hasn’t come back and I don’t where she’s gone to!

mrs. hotchkiss: She’s probably gone to the dogs!
