InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is a movement of students and faculty active on almost seven hundred college and university campuses across the nation. InterVarsity has an estimated one million alumni as a result of its seventy-five–year history. The vision of InterVarsity is to see the transformation of students and faculty, the development of world-changers, and the renewal of campuses. In response to God’s love, grace, and truth, InterVarsity establishes and advances witnessing communities that follow Jesus as Savior and Lord; growing in love for God, God’s Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture, and God’s purposes in the world.
InterVarsity’s core values include Scripture, prayer, spiritual formation, community, discipleship of the mind, leadership development, evangelism, whole life stewardship, ethnic reconciliation and justice, church, and missions. As an expression of these values, InterVarsity hosts Urbana, a student missions conference, held every three years since 1946. Urbana has challenged more than three hundred thousand participants to accept the responsibility and privilege of engaging in global missions. InterVarsity Press, an extension of InterVarsity, is a leading Christian publisher with a respected history of providing resources that strengthen the church, encourage individuals, and shape the academy.
InterVarsity’s ministry is strategic because universities have a significant influence on the broader culture. More than that, InterVarsity is present on campus to reveal the love and hope of Jesus and to develop men and women spiritually so they might spend a lifetime serving his purposes and then dwell with God for all of eternity.
