General - Part 1
- In 2007, The Saturdays were formed after a series of auditions
- In order to come up with a name for the band they each wrote down ideas that came to their head. They knew they didn’t want a gender specific name and had a list of 200 to choose from.
- In 2008, the girls released their debut album Chasing Lights which reached number 9 in the UK, later going platinum.
- Mollie had to pull out of performing at T4 On The Beach due to a horsefly bite which left her leg swollen and meant that she needed crutches for a few days.
- The girls released an autobiography which was published in October 2010 entitled The Saturdays: Our Story.
- The girls have had a number of sponsorship deals including Veet, Impulse deodorant, Nintendo 3DS and FashionistA nail varnish.
- All the girls have been involved with charity work including raising money for Marie Curie, Sport Relief, Comic Relief and Elton John’s AIDS foundation.
- In 2009, the girls released a cover of Just Can’t Get Enough. The single only made it to number two, meaning the girls were the first artists to miss the number one spot with a Comic Relief single.
- Rochelle has a dog which is called Tiger - once, she dressed him up in a Christmas coat and tweeted the picture!
- Mollie’s bandmates call her ‘Miss Disney’ as she is known for being the posh smiley one!
