TUTORIAL 7

In this tutorial, you will convert an imported solid body into a sheet metal part.

1. Download the Tutorial_7. STEP file from the companion website.
2. On the SOLIDWORKS window, click the Open icon on the Quick Access Toolbar.
3. Browse to the location of the downloaded file, and then double-click on it.
4. Click Yes on the SOLIDWORKS message box.

1. Click OK on the Import Diagnostics PropertyManager.
2. On the CommandManager, click the Sheet Metal tab > Convert to Sheet Metal.
3. Click on the horizontal sheet metal face, as shown; the fixed face is defined.

1. Set Sheet thickness to 2
2. Set Default radius of bends to 2.
3. Click the Colled all Bends button in the Bend Edges section.
4. Click OK.

Notice that the Flatten icon on the CommandManager is now available. You can flatten the sheet metal model and create drawings.
