CHAPTER 6
Laundry

Adding your own DIY, all-natural laundry solutions to your routine is one of the best ways to save money and safely remove toxins from your home! With a few staples in your laundry room—liquid Castile soap, baking soda, washing soda, vinegar, and essential oils—you can create nontoxic, eco-friendly solutions that you’ll be excited to use again and again. There are several essential oils that are perfect for all your laundry needs—including tea tree, lemon, and orange essential oils, among others—and whether you’re adding scent or cleansing and purifying, you’ll find a lot of the same oils used again and again. The great thing about these recipes is that you can swap out the essential oils used in some of the recipes for your favorites. Not a fan of lavender in your linen mist? Add lemon essential oil instead. Don’t like the smell of pine essential oil? Use tea tree essential oil. It’s up to you! In this chapter you’ll find recipes for laundry detergents, a fabric softener, and stain removers, as well as general tips to make laundry much more fun. Start making your own laundry soap or fabric softener, and before long, you’ll become the laundry expert in your home!
