SLEEPY TIME BATH BOMBS

Get your child ready for dreamland with one of these calming lavender and orange bath bombs. These essential oils are known to relax both the mind and body, making them the perfect choice for this bedtime bath bomb.

YIELD: 6–8 bath bombs

134 cups baking soda

1 cup citric acid

2 cups cornstarch

1 tablespoon fractionated coconut oil or almond oil

Distilled water, as needed

Purple food coloring (optional)

10 drops lavender essential oil

10 drops orange essential oil

60-millimeter silicone molds or bath bomb molds

TO MAKE: Slowly sift baking soda, citric acid, and cornstarch through a sieve to remove larger chunks, or use a fork to mash into a fine powder. Add in coconut or almond oil and mix well with a fork. Fill a small spray bottle with distilled water and add food coloring if desired. Lightly spritz the mixture with water. Mix well until the mixture becomes the consistency of sand that can be molded with your hands. Add in essential oils and mix well. Transfer the mixture to silicone molds or bath bomb molds. Allow to harden uncovered for a few hours or overnight before removing.

TO USE: Pop 1 bath bomb into your child’s bath water before bedtime.

TO STORE: Store indefinitely in a covered container or jar in a cool, dark place.
