How This Book Is Organized

This book is intended to be a broad, beginner-level resource for investors. We will be discussing across-the-board investment basics—terminology, investment types, and the basic metrics and strategies used when evaluating investments. We will also review the principal resources available to investors in both the traditional and virtual spaces.

Though a thorough discussion of derivative investments, options, penny stocks, and similar investment vehicles will be offered in chapter 6, this book’s principal objective is to assist individuals who seek to reliably profit from sound, stable, long-term investment practices. Throughout the book we will be focusing primarily on traditional, buy-and-hold style, long-term investing. For readers who desire a more thorough treatment of options or penny stock trading, please see ClydeBank Finance’s corresponding titles.5,6
