Isle Royale’s lake trout populations are the most productive and genetically diverse in all of Lake Superior. Waters within park boundaries provide excellent opportunities for catching both trout and salmon. Interior lakes offer habitat for a healthy population of walleye and northern pike. Anglers (17 and older) must have a Michigan State Fishing License if you plan to fish inland lakes or streams. A license is not required to fish Lake Superior. Rock Harbor Lodge provides fishing charter services for island visitors.
