When to Go (ISRO)

Isle Royale National Park is one of the few parks in the contiguous United States that closes during the winter (November until mid-April). August is the best time of the year to make a trip to the island. Weather is typically warm, pests like black flies and mosquitoes are beginning to diminish, and blueberries are often ripe for the picking. The park’s facilities hold regular operating hours during peak season (July – August).
