Break out that salad spinner and toss those leaves with this light, bright dressing.
WHISK together 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice; 1 tsp. Dijon mustard; 1 large garlic clove, pressed; and 1/4 tsp. each sugar and freshly ground black pepper. Add 1/3 cup olive oil in a slow, steady stream, whisking constantly until smooth. Store in refrigerator up to 1 week; let stand at room temperature 20 minutes, and whisk just before serving. (Makes about 2/3 cup)

PREHEAT oven to 350°. Stir together 3 minced garlic cloves, 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil, 2 Tbsp. melted butter, and 1/2 tsp. dried crushed red pepper. Cut 1 (12-oz.) French bread loaf in half lengthwise. Brush cut sides with garlic mixture; place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with chopped fresh chives. (Serves 6 to 8)

COOK 1 lb. French green beans (also called haricots verts) covered in boiling salted water for 3 to 5 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain and sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper. (Serves 4 to 6)

PREHEAT oven to 375°. Unroll crescent roll dough from 2 (8-oz.) cans refrigerated crescent rolls. Separate into 16 triangles, roll up, and place 2 inches apart on a baking sheet. Brush with 2 Tbsp. melted butter, and sprinkle with 2 Tbsp. sesame seeds. Bake at 375° for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. (Makes 16 rolls)
