RESOURCES & RESEARCH
There are so many books, periodicals, classes, films, and other resources on creativity, intuition, the brain, and psi phenomena that I offer here only a bare skeleton of suggestions. Some are easy; some are pretty heavy going; some are personal favorites. But as you delve into the topic, you’ll find hundreds more that you like, and better. This list is just a beginning. Don’t forget the Internet.

IN BRITAIN
I also recommend to anyone who can get them some of the periodicals from the College of Psychic Studies in England, especially their publication Light: A Review of Spiritual and Psychic Knowledge, which has been published without a break since 1881.
The College of Psychic Studies, 16 Queensberry Place, London SW7 2EB. Tel: 020 7589 3292.
Look also for Paranormal Review: A Forum for Debate, the magazine of the Society for Psychical Research,49 Marloes Road, Kensington, London W8 6LA. The Society conducts scholarly research into human experiences that challenge contemporary scientific models.
The Arthur Findlay College at Stansted Hall, calling itself the foremost college for the advancement of Spiritualism, is a full board residential center where students develop psychic abilities and study Spiritualist philosophy and practice.
IN AUSTRALIA
The Chiara College of Metaphysics, established in 1995, has online classes as well as in five locations. Mailing address: PO Box 6145, Hammondville, NSW 12170, Australia. E-mail: admin@chiaracollege.com.
IN THE UNITED STATES
The American Society for Psychical Research (ASPR), 5 West 73rd Street, New York, NY 10003 (Tel. 212-799-5050). Established 1885, the ASPR is basically a research library.
This is balanced by the following:
The New York City Skeptical Psychic Society, founded February 2010, has occasional meetings at 20 West 20th Street, New York, NY, or on Facebook.
The Parapsychological Association of scholars and scientists studying psi phenomena, founded in 1957 by J. B. Rhine, publishes the Journal of Parapsychology and Mindfield. This association held its 53rd annual convention July 2010 in Paris.
The Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE), 215 67th Street, Virginia Beach, VA (Tel. 800-333-4499). Founded by Edgar Cayce in 1931, this is one of the world’s greatest resources for the study of transpersonal subjects, spirituality, dreams, intuition, psi abilities, philosophy, and reincarnation.
INTERNET
There are dozens of local spiritual schools and colleges in every country in the world and thousands of psychics available through the Internet or Facebook who are willing to teach their skills. Being unfamiliar with them, I hesitate to make specific recommendations. But I am sure that courses at any church that is part of the National Spiritualist Association would probably be legitimate.
If you look on the Internet, you will find some 3.15 million hits under “Psychic Societies NYC” alone. I wish we had in the United States an equivalent to the long-established English colleges for the study of psychic abilities and mediumship. But we do have numerous schools. Click on
www.Psychic-Junkie.com to find listings of psychic and spiritual schools that offer B.A., M.A., D.D., and Ph.D. degrees in metaphysics, distance learning, and psychic development. Remember, you are on your own. Use your intuition. Test the teaching. It is spiritual development that should be of concern, not the acquisition and use of heady powers.
Good luck!
