Starting a new series is always frightening territory for an author. Until readers start tearing into a story, I always wonder if they are going to resonate with my characters and with the storyline. So far, the feedback I’ve received on the first book in the Ed Maddux series has been encouraging, and I hope that continues as the series progresses.
The bulk of my research for this novel took place at the National Archives, and I’m incredibly grateful to Steven Hamilton for his direction there. Finding these CIA papers from the 1960s wasn’t easy, and I doubt I would’ve ever thought to look for them had it not been for him.
As usual, I appreciate the editing skills of Krystal Wade in making sure this book isn’t riddled with mistakes.
And as always, I must thank my wife for listening to me babble on about espionage while I worked away on crafting this story.
Last but not least, I want to thank you, the reader, for supporting my work. I hope you enjoyed reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it.
