YOUR JOB

For myself, I am only capable of about an hour and a half of meaningful living per day. I can only muster intense feelings for that amount of time and that leaves another 22 1/2 hours to fill. You eat, you sleep, and there’s still plenty of time to work eight hours a day. And since you have the time you might as well fill it by earning a living.

There are two reasons to have a job:

  1.      You are doing something very meaningful that fills you with joy and it doesn’t matter that that you’re not making much money because the money is only for you to enjoy your life, and you’re already enjoying your life. This is a small category filled with people like Pablo Picasso. We can not all be with Dr. Schweitzer in Africa saving the natives. The meaningful job is not all that easy to find and perhaps you are not meant for that.
  2.      You are working to get the money to pay for your lifestyle. The bulk of us fall into this category. You will be well paid for doing what you do well, whether you like doing it or not. So enjoy the fact that people truly want you to do what you’re doing.

As for the lifestyle you then pay for, that is the hard part. Just following the herd in pursuing sex, food and flashy cars may not be all that satisfying. You will have to find out who you really are and then style a life for yourself. And finding a life partner is not the solution. You will then have to find a lifestyle that suits both of you. Perhaps you should find a lifestyle first, and that will narrow down the partner possibilities.

One last piece of advice!

Better looking people get better jobs. Research has proven this. But please, don’t grouse about how unfair it all is. Life is unfair, haven’t you noticed? You are here to fight back against the unfairness in a reasonable way.
