A NOTE ON THE AUTHOR

Glenn Frankel is a Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist and bestselling author of The Searchers: The Making of an American Legend, as well as critically acclaimed books on Israel and South Africa. He spent twenty-seven years at the Washington Post, serving as bureau chief in southern Africa, Jerusalem, and London, and as editor of the Washington Post Magazine. He won a Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting for “balanced and sensitive reporting” of Israelis and Palestinians. He has taught journalism at Stanford University and the University of Texas at Austin, where he also served as Director of the School of Journalism. He and his wife live in Arlington, Virginia.
