Dear Recorders Office,
For the last twenty years I have had problem after problem in my chosen profession. People would say I was “difficult” and “Napoleonic.” Everything imaginable has been said about me, in fact, one producer even called me “coquettish.” Fictitious and slanderous articles have been published in the tabloids. You would think they could find someone else to write about. My once glittering career has plunged into an abyss of finger-pointing and civil lawsuits.
To try and solve the mystery of my show biz demise I have squandered much of my paltry nest egg on psychics, herbalists, and closet organizers. I tried to contact Tony Robbins and Dr. Phil but neither would return my phone calls. On three occasions I’ve been on “hold” waiting to speak to Dr. Laura but never got through. My aunt, an old Beach Boys fan, even suggested I get in touch with Dr. Eugene Landy.
Yesterday I just happened to be watching one of my old television shows. Something started troubling me when they rolled the credits at the end of the episode but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then it hit me like an epiphany, my name is all wrong! Gabe Kaplan: ten letters, three of them “A’s.” What could be more of a career roadblock than that sorry moniker? How could it have taken me this long to determine the source of my woes?
I would like to immediately change my name to Raziel Eureka. Twelve letters and only two “A’s.” Please tell me how I can effect this change as expediently as possible. I don’t have any time to waste.
