This is investigated in the form, ‘Who is friend to whom?’, that is to say, in the specific form, ‘Is like friend to like?’, etc. Inasmuch as philia in the human sphere is the relationship between philoi or friends, it is appropriate for the search for the definition of the abstract philia to be framed in terms of an attempt to define the members of that relationship.
