Attachment Parenting International (API) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit grassroots organization that offers parents and professionals education about attachment parenting and support through local support groups with trained facilitators, publications, research information, e-newsletters, website information, and online forums. API also functions as a clearinghouse of information on all aspects of child and family-related topics and engages in advocacy work on behalf of children and parents.

The mission of API is to support all parents in raising secure, joyful, and empathetic children in order to strengthen families and create a more compassionate world. Through education, support, advocacy, and research, our principal goal is to heighten global awareness of the profound significance of secure attachment—not only to invest in our children’s bright futures but also to reduce and ultimately prevent emotional and physical mistreatment of children, addiction, crime, behavioral disorders, mental illness, and other outcomes of early unhealthy attachment.
