CARAMEL-PECAN APPLE SLICES
Here’s a warm, decadent side dish for a winter brunch. Ready to eat in only 15 minutes, the apples are also good alongside a pork entree or spooned over vanilla ice cream.

1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 large apples, cut into 1/2-inch slices
1/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted
In a large skillet, cook and stir brown sugar and butter over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Add apples; cook, uncovered, over medium heat 5-7 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in pecans. Serve warm.
NOTE To toast nuts, spread them in a 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 5-10 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Or, spread in a dry nonstick skillet and heat over low heat until lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
